You should absolutely not smoke. Don't start. Do yourself a favor and take this advice seriously. I regret the day I ever started. It's been almost 20 years of smoking, I've had cancer twice - AND I STILL SMOKE. It is a highly addictive and unhealthy - just harmful habit. I've quit three times and started back again everytime. You are so young. Please don't do it - it can cause medical problems you may not realize until later in life. Keep your young and healthy lungs clean. It's not cool and it's not worth it.

As for the parents - be honest. Tell them you tried a cigarette, you hated it and you'll never do it again. Then don't.

A lot of kids experiment but it's good that you didn't like it! Don't try it again...you will regret it if you get hooked.I do. I've been a smoker for the last 6 years (I'm 25) and I wish I never took that first drag. It's not cool. I see kids your age around here smoking and it's really sad. You tried it and got that curiosity out of your system. Now please leave it alone...

Flush the butt down the toilet and spray some lysol or febreeze or anything to get rid of the smell but not too much or your parents will become suspicious. Or, light some scented candles. Also, do some cleaning up around the house so if they do ask you can say you were tidying up for them. Open up some windows too.

Are you kidding me? Don't do it again. Next thing you know you will be addicted like all the other millions of people that want to quit but are struggling. It will eventually kill you! On another note....it stinks really bad. I'm a smoker so I know (been smoking for 20 years since I was 16). Trust me, you'll regret ever even trying it. As for covering it up. Good luck with that. A non-smoker can smell it from a mile away.

Smoking is highly addictive -- I'm glad for you that you didn't like it because the nicotine alone can be a very tough habit to break.

To get rid of the smell, open the windows and spray Febreeze around on the carpets and drapes and such. The other thing you can do is be mature and straight up with your parents.

Amber... it's a bad idea to start smoking, it's understandable that you are curious as to why people smoke.

Take me for instance, I started smoking at age 14 and regret it to this day, but trust me it's really hard to quit and kick the bad habit. I guess when I first smoked was because my mother was always smoking and well, I stole my first cigarette from her and tried it. Then my friends started smoking around me so I ended going along with them. And well, now it's addictive and a really bad habit. I'm 22 years old now, and realize this could affect me in the long run. My grandparents both died of lung cancer because they have smoked for years. Also, my mother continues smoking and I fear she will die of lung cancer as my grandparents has. It took my grandparents to pass away for me as well as my family to realize smoking can easily take a life. I hope for you not to start and I hope for myself to have the will to quit soon.

It would be better if you told your parents about the cigarette, I'm sure they will understand. And you wouldn't be in so much trouble if they found out another way.

People like them for stupid reasons. Just know that smoking is real bad for your health and the people's health around you.

In my opinion, you shouldn't smoke another one ever again, because you can get many types of diseases from smoking.

Like emphysema, lung cancer, and many other things that are just nasty and ruin your health.

You should go to this website and see what all cigarettes can do you and your health.

GOOD LUCK!!

Make this the 1st and last cigarette you ever smoke. Once its got a hold of you it doesn't let go. Brush your teeth, wash your hands and face and spay a little hairspray to get the smell out of your hair.

you tried.. you hated.... do NOT do it again... I am 48 and have smoked from your age ... that is many years to destroy my body and mind.. I suggest to you that you remember how you feel now, take it to heart and NEVER try those nasty things again.. as for what to do before parents get home ?? may I suggest that you sit down with mom or dad or both and be open and honest with both of them.. tell them what you did and why.. tell them how it made you feel and what the future planes are, as for NEVER smoking again.. yes, they may punish you, but I KNOW that they will take it to heart and remember the HONESTY more than the deed of smoking !!! this will, as you grow older, show them you are more than responsible !!!! God bless

Smoking is so gross. Take a shower and brush your teeth a bunch of times. Trust me smoking is the worst habit to get into.
