Wasn't sure where to post this...
But since I am a Canadian, and intersted in what Americans would be thankful for...I chose politics and government.

Memo to BillSabre07...even though I am not an American I'll be giving my thanks tomorrow that you are not in Canada as well....I'll certainly have to keep you in mind the next time someone posts a question asking why some Canadians are anti-american...(which I am not, by the way, but I am sure anti you!!)

Yes..this is a serious and genuine question, with no underlying crap....sounds so far like there is little difference in the Canadian and American concept of Thanksgiving..

I am grateful for so many things....I'm grateful that I'm alive and have full use of my body (have chronic health problems). I'm grateful that I have a wonderful husband and supportive family and friends. I'm grateful that I live in a country where I'm not forced to cover my face just because I'm a woman. I am extremely grateful for our men and women fighting to ensure that we'll always be free. I'm grateful for my horses and my dogs - they help me so much emotionally when I'm feeling bad physically.
Nice question - sorry you had some jerky replies.
Happy Thanksgiving to you!

Since I take it you were asking a serious question I'll tell you. Most of us are thankful for our families and friends above all else.
Personally I am thankful that I've had another year with my family. None of us died and my mother beat cancer this year, so we're just glad we're together for another holiday.
I think everyone everywhere should set aside at least one day of the year to be with their family and realize how much they appreciate each other. That's what most American's use Thanksgiving for.

I am thankful that I was blessed with two perfectly healthy babies...and that there are men and women brave enough to fight for the the freedoms that my family and I enjoy everyday!!! I am proud to be an American, but have nothing against Canadians as long as they are talking **** about us Americans!!

Wow, I thought this was a nice question, & you got some really warped answers! Well, thanks for asking! I am thankful that there is only 2 more years for Bush...Thankful that more democrats voted this time! I am thankful my kid is growing up strong & healthy, despite all the stuff Bush has allowed to happen in this country! I am thankful I can travel & I enjoy going to Canada! I like the cities & the coutry side is beautiful too!

Quite possibly I'll spend the day in reverence of not needing the excuse of a holiday to be thankful for something. Or rather not being persuaded to color it in a positive light because those who oppressed and maimed to make it the 'holiday' that it is want to rewrite their past wrongs out of the pages of history.

That I live in the best country on planet Earth; I am grateful to God for protecting us; I am grateful that my family is together and healthy; I am grateful that Americans are the most prosperous nation and that we have shared such prosperity with people around the world; that our President has recognized the true threat of our time: militant Islam; for capitalism which provides goods and services cheaper to all people regardless of economic class.
