Naruto has that certain quality that makes him who he is. Such as his hair, his attitude and demon. It wasn't Naruto's fault for being shunned by the town. The Fourth wanted Konohagakure to see Naruto as a hero.
Gaara is about the same as Naruto. He has a demon, his personality needs some adjusting, and he also has a demon. Gaara was supposed to be the perfect Ninja, until his father, the Kazekage, tried to kill him.
I suppose I'd choose Gaara overall, considering he has that cool 'love' tattoo on the forehead and he's cute.

Coz they both felt how it is to be unwanted and Gaara freaked out and has become some kind of uh... freak while Naruto managed to make people aknowledge him ...

Dude, I had that touchy feeling when Gaara gave up his life to save his village
Overall, I'd choose both, well, because I need to pick one I'd definitely choose Gaara, cause I think he freaked out coz he had no Iruka (perzon I mean, his uncle was like Mizuki), and Naruto's very darn annoying at times but Gaara was just there quiet but i'm sure, both surely would give up their life to save those whom they loved

Yeah, I think I'd pick Naruto for the pre-Time Skip, but I can't say which I'd choose for the post-Time Skip, they've both matured so much! And... Gaara got rid of his... crazy... o-o; kinda sorta.

GAARA! He's pretty cool. I mean Narutos pretty cool himself, but I cant stand him in the American translated version.

Naruto is much better. Naruto is alway going on about something. And he always keep his promise; not mention he proved people wrong on how strong he become.
