The best way I can think of to answer your question is this - psychologists only study individuals and anthropologists only study society; Sociologists, however, study the intersection of individuals in society. It's too simplistic to say that we just study society because there's a lot more to it than that. People are social creatures. We study the effects that society has on people and the effect that people have on society.
There are different ways to study sociology. Some people look only at the individuals (called micro sociology), other academics look at the larger picture and study the whole of society first and individuals second (called macro sociology). Georg Simmel was a microsociologist, Max Weber was a macro sociologist.

Sociology is the study of a given society. And fascinating if you ask me.
Anthropology is the study of past societies and psychology is the study of individuals within a society, generally speaking. There are exceptions and specializations.
All fascinating.
Peace.

I am taking this course currently and it is the study of people in society and how the things around them effect how people react. Sociology is looking at the specific person unlike other classes where you look at groups of people and how they act. It is very interesting and the class realtes to current topics and topics that have happened in the past.
