You could do the cabbage soup diet, which some doctors give out to patients if they have to lose weight before an operation. I did it a year ago and lost 14lbs in one week. I've never put it back on and have been eating much healthier ever since. You could do it for a week after Thanksgiving and then another week after Christmas because you have to eat a normal, healthy diet for at least three weeks in between.
Make a pot of soup with the following ingredients:
cabbage
celery
peppers
onions
bullion stock cube
carrots
mushrooms
tin of diced tomatoes
Add as much seasoning as you like to suit your own taste. You'll be eating this for a week, so you have to like it. Avoid alcohol and drink only water (at least 8 glasses), tea and herbal tea.
Day 1: Eat only fruit (as much as you like, whenever you feel hungry, but avoid bananas). Drink as much of the soup as you like.
Day 2: Eat only vegetables (as much as you like, whenever you feel hungry, but avoid sweetcorn, peas, beans and potato). In the evening have a baked potato with butter. Drink as much of the soup as you like.
Day 3: Combine days one and two, but no potato. Drink as much of the soup as you like.
Day 4: Eat up to 8 bananas and 8 glasses of skimmed milk. Drink as much of the soup as you like. This day is supposed to lessen your desire for sweets.
Day 5: Beef And Tomatos: Ten to twenty ounces of beef and up to six fresh tomtoes. Drink at least 6 to 8 glasses of water this day to wash the uric acid from your body. Eat your soup at least once this day. You may eat broiled or baked chicken instead of beef (but absolutely no skin-on chicken). If you prefer, you can substitute broiled fish for the beef one one of the beef days (but not both).
Day 6: Beef and Vegetables: Eat to your heart's content of beef and vegetables this day. You can even have 2 or 3 steaks if you like, with leafy green vegetables. No baked potato. Eat your soup at least once.
Day 7: Brown rice, unsweetened fruit juices and vegetables: Again stuff yourself. Be sure to eat your soup at least once this day.
It's very easy to stick to because it only last for seven days and you watch the weight drop off at 2lb per day. It also definitely changed my eating habits and I never put the weight back on. It's also a very good detox. If you have any health problems though, you should speak to your doctor before doing this. Also, on a couple of the days I felt a little weak, so take a good multi vitamin while you are doing it.

Easy, stay away from greasy foods and caffeine filled drinks like coca cola etc... Drink lots of water, increase your intake of bran and fibre. Get stuff like granola bars(oats and honey are good), bran flakes, shredded wheat etc... Also, stay away from bread and do not eat any carbs (pasta, potato) after 6pm. Lots of exercise and lots of walking. While walking concentrate on holding in all the important areas to tighten.
I did that and lost 10lbs in three weeks.
