Patrick C's got the right site. You need to make sure you put the correct URL in the address field of your browser as there some bogus sites out there that claim to offer free credit reports but will really charge you for them.

That site "allows you to request a free credit file disclosure, commonly called a credit report, once every 12 months from each of the nationwide consumer credit reporting companies: Equifax, Experian and TransUnion."
