I think it was a great trade...the Lakers got what they wanted and so did the Heat...the Heat won the only title they're going to win with Shaq....plus he's old, the Lakers did good to get rid of him...he's probably taken more pain then anyone because of his size and by him demanding a large salary, eventually with his injuries he'll become dead salary cap

You are right!! Because of his age and body many think that he's not dominant anymore. But generally speaking, it was a trade that really benefitted the HEAT because they lack the defensive presence below and the offensive power as well and you can see the result when Miami HEAT won the 2006 NBA Title last year. Well, Odom was the only remaining player out of that trade that is still with the LAKERS. It should have been called the ODOM-O'NEAL trade. O'NEAL already has proven his self with the lakers by winning 3 rings and all that he had to do now is to win more rings before he retires. He has already proven that he was a great deal for the Heat. Now the question is...can Kobe prove that he still win a title without shaq? We still have to see...

As a Laker fan, I still think it was a great trade for both teams. Shaq was no longer motivated to play in L.A. He got traded and decided to get into shape for his new team. Shaq went to the weaker east were he didn't have to deal with Yao or Duncan in the Conference Playoffs. Only the Pistons stood between him and the finals. With the Pistons self-destructing the road to the finals was clear. Wade put the team on his shoulders and took the Heat to the championship. The Lakers got some good young players that might help the Lakers win it all in the next few years.

so far the trade has been great for both teams . however the heat won a championship since the trade occured. but this is also good for the lakers. lamar odom is having a good season so far( the team looks younger compare to miamis veterans) plus i think jordan farmar could be a good fit for the lakers future. For the Heats future ( after the shaq era) they need to find another star who can team up with wade to become championship contenders as last season

It was a good trade for both teams. Miami got a championship out of the trade and L.A. recieved something to work with. They got Odom and traded to get Kwame Brown with Butler. L.A. could have not traded Shaq and got nothing for him the next year when his contract was over. Then L.A. would have to start from scratch.

Farmar wasn't really involved in the trade...and Shaq and his squad won a championship. The Lakers ain't won nothin! Come on, sayin Shaq isn't dominant is like sayin that birds can't fly good. Come on, use your common sense!

Both teams got what they wanted. The Lakers may have been better off trading Kobe. They can't win the playoffs with a one person team, especially another diva. The Heat won the playoffs.
