The major differences are the mortality rate and the importance of religion in our everyday lives. Improved sanitation and health care has given us a much better and longer life than they had in the Middle Ages. With the better health, religion has become less important to most of us and no church really has the overwhelming strength of the Catholic Church during the Middle Ages.

Christianity is not a 'medieval mindset'. Christianity predates the middle ages by over a thousand years. And before you say it, I'll ask why we don't discard Greek and Roman thought?

Indoor plumbing and sewer systems. A lot of disease was spread in medieval times because there was no system for disposing of waste in the cities. Pots of .... well.... you know..... would be dumped out of windows next to homes and into the streets.

I can't imagine living in those times, but I suppose if it's how you grew up it wouldn't matter.

Best Wishes,
