It takes me about 5 hours from Plymouth to Manchester. Depends on what route you go, how many stops and your speed. Personally, I'd recomend A38, M5, then M42, M6 toll road, and A34 which runs parellel to the M6 but avoids Sandbach which is always congested, then onto the M60 then M66 into Bury. Hope it helps.

It depends on a lot of thing like:
What time are you traveling,
What the traffic is like
How fast you drive (IE if you drive at 70mph or 100mph)
and also where in Devon.
But I would say that it would take between 5 hour (at best) to 9 hours (at worst)

relies upon once you bypass, how briskly you bypass and what course you're taking. i could wager via toll street/A38 it could take 4 to 5 hours. It you're going quickly pay attention for 50mph zones at roadworks around Bristol and Exeter.
