Windows 98 doesn't have wireless support built into it. BUT most wireless hardware has software that is shipped with it that will install a wireless configuration utility on a Win 98 machine.

READ the box and see if the wireless hardware supports Windows 98!

I recommend a Netgear 802.11g (don't get 802.11n for a Win98 machine) wireless notebook card. Netgear's Win 98 support is OUTSTANDING!

At the time Windows 98 was released there was no wireless connectivitiy connections in place but modern Wireless Adpaters enable you to connect their routers through Windows 98 by having a patch.

So, possibly you can connect your Wireless Router thorugh Windows 98.

Yes and No because it all depends on the wireless modem and router. But anyways to set it up a router you should take the USB cord on the router and plug it to your laptops USB port. Then you put in the setup disk and it will guide you through the rest.

Next to setup a Modem you should first plug it in to the electrical outlet. Then u connect it to the computer and last do what u do for the router put in the cd it should come with and BAM followthose instructions and you will soon be hearing " You Got Mail" lol.

If you need any other help please email me.

modem interprets cyber web sign if it is already translated, why could u could do it returned? yet i might advise upgrading that modem to a minimum of one that connects with ethernet cable as USB ones have been ordinary to have stress concerns. Ethernet is speedier greater effective stable an on no account have an reason stress concerns. be conscious: if u desire to unfold ur cyber web u choose a router, that splits ur translated cyber web sign an handles requests of cyber web pages from different machines. it is okay to reinforce ur latest modem to a modem/router (additionally many situations stated as a gateway) as this might enable u to attach with the internet, enable u the skill of alongside with different notebook's l8r at the same time as additionally (if u desire to get one with this option) furnish u prompt ability, to no longer element out optimal routers have in-built firewalls that'll furnish u greater effective maintain practices at the same time as on line :P in short if ur lappy provides geared up in prompt get that particularly no longer modem an heavily evaluate upgrading ur latest modem to modem router
