Wow someone at the Dr's office really dropped the ball if you woke up during surgery. That's what the anesthesiologist is there for (So you DON'T wake up)
I think the only real cure is to see a therapist maybe because you may be having post traumatic stress disorder

There is at least one national support group for people who have experienced this type of situation. Perhaps you could ask an anesthesiologist group if they know what it's called. I remeber seeing a program about it on the Discovery channel last year. It was very shocking that it happens as often as it does.

Try Hypnosis, (also get them to tech you self hypnosis) it can be use for many things, quitting bad habits, improving recall for exams, sleep the list is endless. Similiar to very deep meditation.
