Yes, suggestion has been proven to cause a wide variety of physical and psychological reactions. Basically if you tell someone what something is before you give it to them their mind will find a way to make it true, even if it isn't.

Only with my husband. I discovered it early, while we were dating. He has horrible stubble after shaving, and I saw a pic of someone with a mustache and said....hmmm. I bet you'd look good in one like that. >poof< next time I saw him, he had a mustache growing (and no more lip burn for me!)
