I don't think it was a gay remark- I think it was just the "feel" of the environment that day when it happened. I think that Clay was totally wrong for doing that- because that is something that you may do as a parent to a child, but I think that is the only time it would be acceptable. I think it was immature of him to do and disrespectful as she said. But on the other hand, she DID have a co-host and really should have shut up for a few minutes to allow for him to chime in and ask his questions.

You're probably gay too, how would you feel if a guy, whos been shaking hands w/ god knows how many people put his dirty hand on your mouth, Kelly's comment wasn't a homophobic remark, Rosie;s the one calling Clay a fag because he's never admitted to being gay in the first place!!!
I'd say the big head came about the time that she was able to afford a house in "the Hamptons".
A topic she never gets tired of bringing up. It's never she and Mark went back to their home for the week-end....it's always, they went to "the Hamptons".
Something I personally, am tired of hearing about.
Only Kelly could get into an altercation with "Mr Nice Guy" Clay Aiken.

Really, "I don't know where that hand has been " is not a gay remark!! I'd say it to anyone who invaded my personal space like that, it is rude and disrespectful. It's a remark made by someone who is concerned about hygiene!! As a parent of small children you are always mindful of your own and everyone else's hygiene!!
I think it's actually kinda of ridiculous that Rosie would make it into a Gay/Straight thing!! Common sense is sometimes is replaced by personal agenda!!!
Clay has not admitting to be Gay!! Rosie might want to remember that small detail next time she spouts off. Also, Clay may want to take issue with another statement she made," If it had been a good-looking man, or someone who sexuality is not in question, she would not have made that statement." So Rosie's saying Clay's not good-looking and doesn't look straight, umm. She might want to reevaluate what she says rather than what someone else says!!!

I honestly think people are reading way to much into it. First Clay Aiken never denied or confirmed that he was gay, so how can it be a "gay remark" and people just need something else to talk about. Let me ask you, would you want somebody covering your mouth with thier hand? Hell No!
Rosie O'Donnel really needs to think before she speaks. That's not the first time on "The View" she made a completely inappropriate comment.

No, I think she meant it how she said she did. He was shaking hands with everyone and besides that YOU dont know where his hand have been. It doesnt mean he's gay, for all you know he could have scratch his balls before going up on stage or picked his nose. Lets be realistic. You dont put your hands over someones mouth. I completely agree with Kelly Rippa thats very disrespectful and who ever thinks that she was saying it as a gay remark obviously is close minded.

I think people are reading too much into it. Besides, who gives a fark about Clay Aiken? Anyway, any parent out there knows that the dirtiest part of a person's body is their hands. Making a glib remark to Clay after he violated her personal space on national TV was basically her saying, "you'll never work this show again, you little s***."

I'm with Kelly. I don't think Clay's putting his hand over her mouth was appropriate, but I don't think he even thought about it when he did it. It bothered Kelly - she said what she had to say - and it should be overwith......unless Clay would be man enough to apologize for his action. I think Rosie should keep her mouth shut - she expressed her "view" - now drop it. None of them should talk to the media about it anymore.

I don't think she meant it as a gay statement; HANDS are one of the nastiest and germ infested areas of our bodies! We don't wash our hands HALF as much as we should.
She is a grown woman and under no circumstances should he have put his hand over her mouth like that. On top of that, he was a guest host! Her and Regis have a relationship where, MAYBE, that incident would not have gotten a response like this from her. But, one way or the other, he was wrong.
And as for Rosie, she needs to GET A GRIP!!! I get tired of her acting as though she as the gay people's president! It amazes me how, you say you want all these equal rights, acceptance, etc, but then minute someone says BOO! You are screaming HATE CRIME, SLANDER, GAY-HATE! The situation was not that deep, for her to blow it all out of proportion. I think she CONSTANTLY looks for opportunities to build up HERSELF, not her gay community; and this situation gave her yet another opportunity.

I think Kelly was fine and Rosie O'Donnel has a history for saying ignorant things to the point where I think most people discount anything she says. "There goes Rosie again...".

Oh whatever. Everybody knows that hands are germ motels. People don't wash their hands every time they should, etc. I know I don't particularly like shaking people's hands for that reason.
So if I used your logic, no one can have an argument with a gay person because everything they said would be homophobic. Gimme a break. Why should we have to tip toe?
