6 years to actually be a doctor. Maybe even more. I think that that is a great idea to go for this carreer. It is good to have women doctor treating other women. You will be able to relate to the patient and know what they are also going through. Women can relate better to women when it comes to female problems.

Go for it. I can tell you would have a lot of compassion. Your family should understand your decision to want to help women with their health needs.

Maybe a little odd, but hey normalcy is only statistics. Don't worry about what they think of you, you'd be a doctor and make a lot more money than most of them probably will anyway so just ride on a feeling of superiority.

I have no idea but it can often take well over four years to get a master and doctorate.

contact you local college to find about the courses and programs. It's absurd that you and you family would think you are gay just because you want to be a gynecologist. Any medical profession is a very admirable profession. I do encourage you to do what your heart tells you and follow you instincts. I can tell you one thing for sure is that is very difficult to keep the world happy! Especially because is not your job. This is your life enjoy it!

I dont think its weird at all... My gyno is part of a group of all women gynos... and im pretty sure they are all straight... they are all very nice, and my gyno cares nothing at all that i am a lesbian, she makes visits very comfortable. I say go for what you want to do! Who cares what your family thinks? Obviously they will see you are not gay when get married to a guy one day.

Not odd. You want to help people and thats good. If it was odd then being any kind of doctor or scientist would be looked at as odd.

It is not too often that you see a homophobic female. It is not weird unless you are going to be one just so you can fondle women.

so what you don`t think having a vagina is enough you want to see, examine and touch other women`s vagina to.(greedy).
Might be very nasry or you will get what you never expected.
Any way go for it.....
