It means it is a 2 wheel drive vehicle (4X2) & not a 4 wheel drive (4X4) vehicle.
Most trucks are REAR wheel drive (power delivered to the rear wheels a.k.a. 4X2) OR four wheel drive (power delivered to all 4 wheels a.k.a. 4X4)
as opposed to most cars ...front wheel drive or all wheel drive. And some cars are rear wheel drive.

sounds like you have been watching a little too much Price is Right. This is the term they always used when they gave away a 2 wheel drive truck. Instead of just saying " you've just won a truck" they add the 4x2 in there it means nothing but sounds better if you dont know about trucks. It is about marketing and looks.

its just an emblem that was put on them to dress them up,it doesn't mean its special or anything i have seen and repaired a lot of them,it was a trim item that helped them to look better,it helped sell a lot of trucks though ,good luck i hope this help,s.
