Let's face it, whenever you see a group of Black people getting close, people get scared. Also, everyone is always scared of offending Black people...why? It's like you're stepping on eggshells everytime you get close to or start talking with a Black person...it seems like a lot of Blacks think anything and everything can be construed as racism! Does anyone else notice this?

Let's face it, if any minority, not just black people, are not getting preferential treatment they scream racism.

First of all most black people are not in gangs (fungirl10). People are so stereotypical. I admit that some African-Americans do pull the race card from time to time, but racism does still exist in America. And until all races are treated equally then racism will continue to be an issue. I would like to see some white people deal with some of the day to day inequalities that most minorities deal with, and I don't mean only blacks, I am also including Hispanics, people of middle eastern decent, Asians etc...

Who is "Everyone"? Personally, I am worried when I see groups of ANY of a type of people, hanging around. I get scared when I see groups of Rednecks, for instance.

I taught in a high school that was 1/3 Black, 1/3 White and 1/3 other races (mostly Asian). I never felt "scared", unless someone, no matter what color, openly threatened me (which DID happen a couple times, in the case of both Black and White students).

I don't generalize, unless the people look potentially dangerous (such as carrying guns, wearing "colors" or sporting Confederate flags on their pickup trucks). THEN, I worry. It's not racism, just common sense and experience.

It simply isn't true that everyone is scared of Black people.

No, I don't get scared when I see a group of people of any color -- why would I?

I don't feel I'm stepping on eggshells ever time I get close to or start talking with a Black person.

If you are afraid of all Black people, they probably notice this, and this is why they consider you racist.

Get a grip.

Treat all humans as humans, and most won't have any problem with you.

The media only shows the bad side of black people so a lot of people's only perception of blacks is the ones they see on the news robbing people.

I don't think other people are afraid of offending black people, otherwise they'd stop being offensive. And that ain't happened.

It seems you have a warped view of black people.

Of course there are black people that view everything as racist. There are people of all races that get oversensitive about some issue. But when you count in somethings that people say and that the government does, I can see where my fellow black people get that from. I don't agree with them, but I can understand their view.

Well Holajunki,
Maybe I'm beginning to think maybe you have the problem with Black people since you posted so many things about blks so far.Look again maybe you should ask yourself am I racist. It's people like you that make this country so messed up.Everyone is not scared of blk people it's people like you that are afraid of the things you don't know or don't want to know.Just stop all of this and ask your self what are you afraid of and why.I think You may have the problem. It's white people that are afaird of any other culture and race that they don't understand they make the issue not everyone else.

People are scared of Black People because of how the media show us. It works my nerves when they show black people killing, robbing, unemployed, uneducated, and smoking crack.

People see this and thinks it right. If you were now brought up around black people people assume that the media is right and approach black people is if they are some fantasy character and cross the line.

Black people have been so used of these stereotypes that it becomes second nature. As in, I'll be who you want me to be.

I don't even begin to understand where you are coming from!
I am an 30ish year old white woman living in Ontario and I can tell you I don't see too many people running away scared from groups of black people.
If you want to know where this tendency to construe comments as racism comes from, you should think about how you put your thoughts into words! unbelievable, I think you watch a little too much TV.

I am not afraid of black people because I have spent my entire life among blacks interacting with them. They are people like everyone else. And a lot of fun and nice to know too.
