Only to find the hostess ANGRY because you did not show up in time to help cook? I did. I was invited to dinner. Asked if I should bring anything. She said no. I arrived about 11 - and she was FURIOUS - she said she'd expected me at 7 (never mentioned it) and now her dinner was ruined because SHE had no idea how to cook a turkey! Or bake a pie! If she'd told me in advance, I could have brought stuff, but...

Good grief...I would have told her off, lol. The closest to that that has happened to me was when my aunt said she would bring the side dishes. She showed up ten minutes before we were supposed to sit down to eat with 3 cans of corn and a bag of potatoes.

What a *****! Sounds like the only reason you were invited is so you could teach her how to cook...I don't know if I'd be friends with that person anymore.

someone who actualy likes me and could communicate with me! My Inlaws hate me and could no longer even enable me end a sentence if i attempt to be pleasant at any family contributors gathering. Hubby is a whimp and could no longer upward thrust up for me in any respect. they have even placed me on the kiddy table for 15 years now! So i'd pick to have a Thanksgiving another position with purely those who I delight in being with! Whew! thanks for listening!

That has not happened to Dragon. Dragon usually goes to Thanksgiving with family. This year it is at her brother's house. She is going to bring some carrots (cuz she has some of those in her fridge already). Heeehee

Wow....that sucks. It hasn't happened to me. I do the cooking and I do the inviting. My guests just have to BYOB....if they want it :) Have a better Thanksgiving this year.

Ha ha... And no, never happened to me... People usually tell me to not cook because I burn a lot of things!

Fortunately, I've never experienced that. If you still have relations going on with the person to whom you refer, confront them. If you let your anger/dismay "set on the stove", it could come out unexpectedly later on.
