I think that for me, what I currently consider "old" starts at 40. (I know this will probably change as I get older though!) I know many late 20- and 30-somethings who still look and act similar to me (I'm 24). Even though the difference between 39 and 40 may not be that great, 40 just SOUNDS so much older than 39.

I usually don't even think of the age of a person. I see folks in their 90's out driving, dancing, and enjoying life. I call these people lucky and not old. My brain says I'm young, but my body sometimes tell me otherwise. I like to dress young, look young, and therefore that makes me feel young. When I see a so called old person, and they are having fun and living their life, then I say, "Go for it!"

I think old age is really depend on how well you've taken care of youself and how young you are to refer to someone old. If you're only 10 and you would think someone in the 20's old but anyone at any age would say that 50's is not young anymore. 40's you can still get by if you've taken care of yourself.

It's been my experience, that what we preceive as old actually changes the older we get. When I was 20, I thought 45 sounded old, but as I am now pushing 40, that still seems young, because I still feel young. My parents are in their 60's, but they seem very young and still act young to me!
You're only as old as you feel.

As you age yourself people seem to be young at an older and older age to you.
I have started seeing myself as Mamaw these days but I do not view myself as old.

That depends on how old you are.
When I was a teen, I thought people in their 30's were old. When I was 30, I thought people in their 50's were old......

Let's see ... it's so subjective but I'm 51 and started feeling 'old' around 35 or so. To make matters much worse, I remember when I thought 30 was 'old'.
I say 25.

kids 14 call anyone over 21 old and untrustworthy
if you're talking about looks and such, 60 is the new 40.
