I think that racism is a cancer that plagues both caucasian and african american people and that there is only one way out. Caucasians need african americans to work their way out of racism; similarly, african americans need caucasians to help them work their racial issues out.
Here's my simple suggestion: That both groups get together, first, in a virtual community where the deepest and darkest issues can be brought out openly without fear. Then, once these issues are known, a huge meeting can be held where people can come face to face and talk.
It always amazes me how well the true issues behind all our racism come to the surface when people are given a chance to discuss their issues anonymously. That is why I think the issue of racism needs to start there and then proceed to face-to-face discussion where the real issues can now be discussed since they will by then be in the open.
