there are so many good songs that have been recorded since music was first recorded. i'd like to see a radio station that didn't play just one genre and that didn't play what it was told to play but gave the disc jockey the choice to play the music they and their listeners want to play. we have university stations that do this, but they tend to be trapped into certain genres as well.
there is so much good music that younger people never hear (except in remixes when they suddenly think it's new!), and people from different generations rarely share and enjoy music together any more; we are told by the radio what to listen to according to what group of people we feel we belong to. There is little choice in radio no matter where you go in the world, they're playing the same songs to the same age groups. it's boring and shortsighted and designed to get us to buy things and keep us separated.
in general, songs that deserve to be played more on the radio are songs that don't encourage people to worry about what they look like or who they wanna sex next; songs that deserve to play more on the radio are songs that encourage people to be people rather than slaves to their biology

I'm more of an r&b person, but l Iisten to other music as well. I think radio stations should play more songs by lauryn hill, tracey chapman, and corrine bailey. Unlike a lot of songs, there songs really have meaning and you can hear how passionate they are about their music when they sing.

Nothing...when songs get on the radio they end up being overplayed, people hear them and even if they have no respect for the band or the song they like it because its popular....the radio turns music mainstream and ruins good songs.
