I want to buy more memory to make it faster. Now, I have two choices, I can either buy internal memory or an external hard drive. My question is this, which will make my computer faster, the internal memory or the external hard drive. I'm leaning towards the internal but I wanna double check. thanks for your help and God bless you all.

You need internal memory to make your computer more responsive. An external harddrive won't help increase performance, it just stores files.

A good website that helps you figure out the kind of memory (also known as system memory and RAM), is www.crucial.com. They can help figure out the max memory that is supported, and what memory is standard on your machine.

Hope that helps.

In general, you want to put as much RAM in a computer as you can afford. Adding RAM will increase performance far more than a faster CPU for normal operations.

If you computer has been becoming progressively slower since you bought it, you may wish to also look at cleaning your Windows operating system. Spyware is known to slow computers down a lot.

More ram is great! I have 1.5 GB of ram in my desktop and it’s very fast even though the computer is nearly 4 years old.

Internal memory will speed things up for you... I would suggest 1gig at least. A Hard drive is just a electronic file cabinet, no speed gained from this itom...

Hey there,
Ccleaner is the application I use to clean up my system when my pc slows down because of viruses, trojans or malwares. Free Download here: http://bit.ly/1sW1MRE
It's the best choice.
Hope it helps.
