Of course you have to eat well. I highly recommend taking vitamins. I wouldn't waste my money on the expensive powders they sell to help you bulk up. Eat real food. To get strong and healthier I recommend lifting weights three times a week. You shouldn't work out with weights every day. You need both exercise and rest. On the other hand I know that runners often work out every day. Pick about twelve exercises, do 12 to 15 repetitions and when you get past 15, add a little weight. You have to lift the weight until you can't lift it one more time. Don't worry about stuff like how many seconds it takes you to do it. Just pick the thing up. I've seen things like people lifting little weights in front of the TV and calling that weightlifting. Baloney. About 10% of people don't get any benefit from weightlifting. It's hereditary and you can't change your parents. Good luck.

Drink organic whole milk and lift weights 3 times a week. Eating lots of eggs too.
Exercise is probably the number one thing to do, as you will naturally want to eat more and better foods from the increased metabolism.

Start walking daily to build up stamina. Work up to 5 miles a day, adding a mile a week. Then, once you get up to 2 months of daily walking, join a local gym and have the trainer set you up on a series of exercises you can do to build mass. First though, get outside and start walking. Maybe even running.
