The Spanish 'la Liga' decide when matches are to be played during the normal season - most are on Sundays but occasionally teams play on Saturdays. For European/champions league games - dates are set by FIFA. To find out exactly when and who Barca are playing this season, log on to www.fcbarcelona.cat; the whole site can be translated into English.

If Barca played a European match that week they play on Sunday in La Liga.
If they do not play in Europe that week, they play on Saturday if they have a major opponent (say, Real Madrid or a title contender like Valencia. Or derby rivals Espanyol). This is to attract more fans and TV audiences.
That's how I think it is, though I may be wrong.

rarely, but you can get the the confirmed day on their web site 10 days beforehand. its normally on a Sunday but if there are European matches midweek, then this tends to be the time when it can be changed to a Saturday
