Psychological or otherwise. I'm a fan of the Cathrine Wheel, the Pear of Anguish, Judas Chair, and other Spanish Inquisition methods. Knotting and knee-capping are evil. And I like the one when they fill you with honey and milk until you get diarrhea and then feed you to wasps and stuff on a hot day. You?

I would say the iron maiden. But the thing that they did in the holocaust, where they would tie the pregnant woman's legs together when she was in labor is unthinkable.

Have ever heard of the chinese method. Hanged off the roof from legs. They start giving you paper cuts till u either talk or die!
The Israilies have a great method as well. I've seen it in a video shot secrutly in a prison in Palastain. Hot boiling oil is pured over the prisoners and then they are thrown into jail. They normally die very slowly from their burns.

The honey/milk/diarehea one is one of my favorites too! (wow I feel dirty) Hooray for scaphism. Although, now that I think about it, would that be considered torture or just a really torturous method of capital punishment? Meh...

And of course there's "Chinese Bamboo Torture", although there is some doubt as to whether or not this is actually real. Just can't trust wikipedia like you used to...

"Chinese Bamboo Torture is an ancient form of torture which utilises the natural properties of bamboo.

The victim is taken outside and either strung between two posts or trees or strapped to a base composed of widely separated slats. The aim is to have the victim suspended horizontally with access to his or her torso from below.

This takes place directly above a patch of young bamboo plants, a plant which is very strong and grows rapidly reaching staggering heights. Hence as the victim lay suspended in mid air the bamboo would begin to grow towards them.

The pain and discomfort at being held in such an unnatural position for several days was in itself a bad experience. However the torturers would also cut the tips of the stems to ensure a sharp point as they grew towards the victim. When the bamboo reached the victims skin the real pain began as the sharp points dug in.

If the victim refused to cooperate at this point (or if the torturer was particularly sadistic) they were left there as the bamboo continued to grow. Owing to the incredible strength of the bamboo stem and the sharpness of the tip, the plant would on most occasions pierce the skin and continue to grow through the abdomen (and any other flesh in its way) eventually causing death."

Still though, for me, the simpler methods still seem just as bad. Just thinking of having my fingernails ripped out...or a hole drilled into my kneecap...or my teeth being ripped out one by one with a wrench... Well yeah, kinda want to vomit...

Childbirth. Especially the first time. Both the actual physical agony of a basketball ripping it's way through a pinhole in the cervix, and the psychological fear that a woman goes through prior to childbirth.
What confuses me is why I did it twice . . . on purpose. I don't like pain, for myself or others. And there are easier ways to acquire children (adoption). I guess mother-love is a pretty strong motivator (or the brain goes numb when babies are involved)!

This is all interesting information that I have never heard of. Thank you for sharing your twisted, morbid thoughts.... that I LOVE (by the way)!

I think that a good ole crucifixion is pretty sweet torture. Hang you up in the middle of the day, hammer your arms and legs to a post, starve, crap and urine yourself, your skin bakes under the hot sun, birds peck at you and insects swarm around you, and there's nothing that you can do about it.

It sucks a lot.

The Chinese water method. Your head is shaved and a tap is allowed to drip on it. After some time the drip becomes a pounding.
Then the Japanese water technique during WW II. They made POW's drink a lot of water, laid them under trees and jumped on their stomachs till they exploded.
The Russian technique of extracting finger nails or teeth.
