It always falls on the fourth Thursday in November. So this year, tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day. As I sit here typing this, my grandmother already has the turkey in the oven. It's always celebrated with a big family feast, typically with turkey, dressing, cranberries, bread rolls, casseroles, pumpkin pie, pecan pie and other tasty dishes. After dinner, it's customary for two people to make a wish on the turkey's "wish bone".

Different families have different traditions. Some people will tell what they are thankful for while they eat and are all lovey-dovey. Other families (like mine) just say a quick prayer and dig in. Then, Grandpa takes his plate and goes to watch football (American football, that is. With the oval-shaped ball.) while the rest of us squabble over politics. Fun, fun.

Well Thanksgiving Day is a day when both familiy and friends
can come together and be thankfull for what they have in their lives. You don't have to be a certain race or religion to show your
familiy that you are thankfull for all they have done for you in your
life. Thanksgiving day is just a specific day that you can do something to show that you are thankfull. Like if everynight
you have dinner with your familiy, on Thanksgiving day, make
sure you tell your family ( and friends if they are there) that you
are thankfull that you are together, and remember that there
are peole out there who can't be with their loved ones all the time. But also, Thanksgiving day is not the only day you can say
thank you to someone.

Do NOT be sorry you are not American!

Generally, we eat a lot of food, usually a turkey, some people
watch foot ball, and the entire family gets together and argues
'cause that's what families do.

There are lots of different cultures that celebrate the end of the
harvest - this is just the one that was declared by Roosevelt
to be on the current day. It has a lot of history here (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thanksgiving ) and lots of origins
in European harvest lore.

When the americans (then brits) landed in this new land called america, they were greeted by the native american people who used to live there.

They welcomed the new comers and offered them a feast to show their welcome.

This later on became thanksgiving.

I only know this much...i am also not an american.

There is no set date for Thanksgiving.. It varies from year to year, but it is always on a Thursday, and always in November. I think it's usually the third Thursday in November.

Are you saying you are not American when it comes to Thanksgiving celebrations...or, what is your question?
You want to know how to celebrate it? Go to a movie, go out to eat anyway, go to the stores and get some good buys the day after Thanksgiving, eat hearty anyway. It's a great day! It's not a religious holiday, it's a "being thankful for what you have" kinda day. Surely you have something to be thankful for.
