Well, when my sister was pregnant, that happened to her. It could, I suppose, harm the baby a bit, but not too much. It'll more or less harm your brother's girlfriend! Try to convince her that she needs to eat. Give her water and put crushed nutrition tablets in it, if it gets worse. That's all you can do, really.

Yes, after 8 weeks, the baby stops feeding off mom's reserves and the umbilical cord transports nutrition to the baby. If the mom isn't getting enough vitamins and minerals (namely FOLIC ACID), the baby could die or have very bad problems.
I had a miscarriage at 3 months because I was trying to eat low fat, and wasn't taking prenatal vitamins every day like I should have when I was much younger. I also went 2 whole days without eating. (Very very stupid of me)
How does she feel about her pregnancy? How does she feel about your brother? Does she not feel like she has a future with him? Maybe she is scared about having a baby, and doesn't feel motivated to care for the life inside of her. Does she have nausea? I lost 10 pounds due to illness in my last pregnancy, and my baby came out fine, but I made sure I was at least drinking lots of milk and taking those pren. vitamins!
She needs to get to an obgyn. Hopefully she is being checked regularly by a doc anyway. That is just what you do when you are pregnant.

she just might be under the weather and not have an appetite... some pregnant people are constantly sick and maybe shes just not feeling well enough to eat that day... as long as she keeps fluids up and takes pills things will be fine for now

i doubt she will lose the baby as a doctor once told me a womans body takes care of the child first...it is not good for her though...she can begin to get very weak..she should speak with her doctor about some nausea medication...however it is very normal...some women are that way the entire 9mos....wish her the best of luck for me
