i dont have a wii yet but i was looking at gamestops website and went to see how much the memory cards are and they sid its like $60 or $100 for either a 1G or 2G sd card

i dont want to spend that much for a memory card so is it needed to save games or is it only for the photo channel or inporting sonds to certain games?

No you don't. It has an internal memory that has 512 Mb of space so you won't need a memory card for a while.

Wii comes with 512 MB of onboard flash memory(not much, but it will get u started). Once u fill that up, u can buy additional SD cards.

Actually if you download a game to the Wii I have not seen anywhere where I can transfer it to my SD card. That would promote 1 person downloading and 20 others using it. Nintendo ain't that stupid.

its has like 2300 blocks of internal memory but to expand that u can use sd cards so no u dont need one
