your views on dissection?

Question

I will not tell you what i am but I need you to give your views on dissection(pro/con). I may use your answer for my Biology paper, if you will do this for me I thank you. Also if you will give me the website you recieved any info from if you did get one from there. Thank you

I think animal dissection is okay. It gives kids a real life experience, which is different from the virtual experience. There is something more relevant and meaningful about actually getting your hands dirty and doing it yourself. Too much we do today is with computers. Would you want a surgeon working on you who has only operated with virtual patients?
And also, the act of dissecting an aminal in real life is more educational all around. The virtual programs simply show you color-coded pictures of the different organs. Kids today simply click and paste their way through it. Studies have shown that, for teachers, real life dissection is the best and clearest way for a student to prove she knows the material.
The war cry for anti-dissection groups is the age-old mantra, "it wouldn't have to die if I didn't dissect it." That isn't always true. Most of the animals being dissected are animals that would have died either way -- stray cats in a shelter, baby piglets taken from dead mothers, and so forth. If they're already going to die, why not make the best of it and use their bodies for science?
