"You came to die?" asked the Australian. I wanted to shake my head, but....?

Why do the Aussies have such a funny accent? I know that he meant, "You came today?", but it sounded.....creepy.

We dont have an accent....we all sound the same. It's Americans (who all sound different) who have the accent.
