Probation refers to a trial period.

In legal terms it means a period of time where the individual is closely monitored and must not do certain things. They must report in to a probation officer on a regular basis, cannot hang around other criminals, bars, or firearms. If they leave the city/area, they must have permission.

Academic probation is a period where you have to get your grades to a certain level or you get expelled.

Probation period on a job means they are trying you out and if you don't do it well, they can let you go.

Probation is usually the period after you are hired that the company can decide if they want to keep you or not. It usually last 3-6 months. Also probation can be a disciplinary act used against an employee if they are not preforming the way the company wants and they say you have such amount of time to get yourself together or your fired. That usually is 3-6 months as well.

A person who comits a crime,Instead of going to jail gets probation and has to report to a probation officer.

In a company It Is a time period In wich a company hires a person ,for Instance I worked at a company and they had a 90 day probation period In wich they could hire me or let me go,It is a way of trying you out for a job to see how you fit

hi well probation means that a person has been found guilty of a crime no matter ho small. A person can be put on proabtion for about 18mnths during that time if they re-offend the time is added on and they will do the full term, with little chance of early release.
