How many parents out there would let their daughters dress like Betty and Veronica? Besides they way they have their bodies all over Archie, I think they would have done been pregnant!

I have no idea what you are talking about. There is nothing wrong with Betty and Veronica

Betty and Veronica were always covered. The riskiest thing they ever wore was a mini skirt, and they weren't that mini and they wore tights with their minis. They are pretty much prudes in comparison to what we have out now. (ie Bratz= skanks)

They may have fought over Archie but they never had sex with him. Not even close. They never even hinted at it. They kissed him on the cheek but that's about it.

Are you talking about this betty and Veronica? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Betty_and_Veronica_Magazine

'cuz you are so wrong!

If I had girls then yes I would let them dress like Betty and Veronica. It could not be any worst than what the females are wearing today showing all their body parts and other things that are not suppose to be showing. At least their bodies were covered and no real short skirt or tight shorts that would attract attention.

I'd be annoyed. But Betty and Veronica act and dress a whole lot more conservatively than a good amount of cartoon females.

l used to collect Archie comics when l was younger. My kids now read some of that stuff. They dont take the comics seriously so l know they wont be bothered by what the girls do. l myself was never boy crazy when l was a teen-ager. Besides, Archie isn't that cute when you think of it. My kids are more interested in the antics of Jughead than what those two spoiled girls are doing.

I certainly wouldn't let any daughter of MINE dress like Betty Page, or Veronica Lake!

I make no excuses for the way people write, draw, edit and market their magazines. They are not doing this to entertain us. They are doing this to make money. And, sex sells.

I am discouraged to see the way that everything has gone downhill over the last thirty or forty years. We now see people dressing in the daytime in a manner that once only slobs, perverts and hookers once dressed, but that was only at night, or in secret!

Even public high schools have to have SOME kind of dress code, or the girls would be too busy flirting with the boys and the boys would be too busy ogling the girls, to get any learning done.

I'm not saying that I have a solution. I just recognize that sex is too powerful for most of the people that we can see around us to control for themselves. Many of them would scoff at hearing that, because they are already being completely contolled by sex.

The best way is to put it in terms of loss of sensitivity and regrets. We have all met or heard of people who have gone sex-crazy and can't seem to get enough of it. They go from one partner to the next, always wanting more and never being satisfied. Why? Because they have become so numbed by the quantity of their experiences that they have completely neglected the qualities of faithfulness and uniqueness. They have lost sensitivity, and may resort to pills or creams in a futile attempt to regain what they once foolishly threw away.

Many experience regrets, once having met the one they wish to settle down with, because the memories of the others are inescapable. Sex is so powerful, the feelings so so memorable, that it is almost impossible that one should not regret the poor, low-quality and too-early experiences one once had.

And, sadly, there are too many people who have associated sex in their minds and hearts with "the thrill of the forbidden" so that they can ONLY take pleasure in something that is forbidden. As our society has changed and changed so that fewer and fewer things are 'forbidden", these people find themselves unable to get the pleasure they once did, because they have linked it to the wrong thing.

It is not easy to talk to your children about such things, especially to warn them before they are led astray by selfish 'friends'. But it is necessary. It will pay off handsomely in terms of a quiet, peaceful and happy sex life, while others are getting divorced and trying perversions and trying to change their bodies, and failing.
