They tried the Playtex ZR57 but all sorts of particles flew into the atmosphere and stained the rings.

Should be able to see it with a 60 X telescope whenever Jupiter is visible. Jupiter does a rotation in about 10 hours. If you don't see the spot right off. Look again now-and-again for the next five hours or so. It'll come around.
