Plecos like to feed at night and generally try to hide during the day. Mine loves algae and algae Tablets. Someday your Pleco, if it is the common type will outgrow a 10 gallon tank. Don't worry about it hiding, for them it's natural.

plecos spend most their time hiding. it's the 10 gallon part that concerns me. plecos get BIG, too big for a 10 gallon. ottos are a better choice for that size tank. They don't get big at all and do well in groups!

It is normal for them to hide a lot but depending on what kind of pleco it is, the tank is going to be too small.

Very normal. It sleeps during the day. You'll see it come out at night, hope that's the time you feed it also!

Completely! Plecos are shy fish. They are also nocturnal, meaning if it's too bright or active, they will not come out. In fact, you might not see it for a couple days (happens to me. I wouldn't see it for 2 or 3 days at a time, most was 5).

Plecos are shy fish, and noctural as well. He's healthy if he spends his days chillin'. Wait for nighttime, switch off the light, and then watch him. He'll probably come out and become active if he doesn't know you're watching him.

Very normal. Plecos aren't very active or sociable. As long as he's eating and not being bothered by other fish, he will be fine.

Yep. I have one too and he hides in a little cave I have in the aquarium. The only time he comes out is at night to eat.

Yep, normal...maybe there's just nothing to suck up! Pleckos also prefer the dark, explaining why he hides.
