You should only ever use the highest absorbency necessary to keep you protected for a maximum of 4 hours. Tampons have been redesigned so that you can use them for up to 8 hours (like while you're asleep), but you should never use ONLY super or super+. Aside from TSS, you can leave yourself open for other types of infections (yeast or PID, for example). If you're concerned about not being protected, use a panty-liner. That's what they're for.

Yes. Leaving a tampon in that long is very unhealthy and super tampons are not a good idea unless you have a very heavy flow.(very heavy means that you must change more than once every 90 minutes.) Use a backup pad and you should not have to worry.

TSS progresses very fast and you may not realize what is happening before it is too late. My sister went to work one morning feeling a little ill. By 10:30 she felt so bad that she needed to leave work. She passed out in the car on the way home and narrowly escaped a fatal accident. Her temp was 104 when she arrived by ambulance at the hospital.

Not every woman will get TSS from wearing tampons for longer than 8 hours. But it is putting yourself at risk for it. Its okay to wear regular tampons and change them more. I have a heavy period too, but I wear regular tampons and change them about every 3 to 4 hours. Its a little more inconvenient, but its safer and its better safe than sorry. You don't NEED to wear super tampons..

I always use super tampons. My period is really heavy, so if I didn't I'd probably be in the bathroom every 20 minutes. I don't think it's bad to do as long as it's what you really need. If your flow is light or if you're on the last day, then you should stick with regulars. You can always wear a pantiliner as backup just in case.

It's best to wear super tampons no longer than 8 hours. After that bacteria can start to build up. Try to change them every six hours if you can and use the lowest absorbency that you can.

yes it can cause some damage to the vaginal wall if the the tampon is dry when pulling it out. so if your flow is slow try and use a smaller tampon. Also toxic shock syndrome is real and leaving a tampon in longer than it should be there you will increase your risks. Also try a panty liner if you want the extra protection from leaking out onto your clothes.

IT IS a big deal.

you can develop odor and serious infections other than TSS, like Yeast Infections, that will spread and get worse.

try wearing a regular tampon with a thin pantiliner and see how that works, and change it at least every 4-6 hours. try that.
cause its gross and can cause funky things to grow and smell inside of you.

i don't have the subject yet inspite of the undeniable fact that...i do no longer positioned on tampons. i might recommend panty liners nonetheless. i recognize rather some different female's back up their tampons with them. If that would not help, which you need to to flow back to (or flow to) pads jointly as you get the subject appeared after out! Who is familiar with, it may desire to be no longer-so-good that your era is so heavy!

You should wear regular or light and change it more frequently as needed. Super are okay for days that require it, but TSS is real and can be very dangerous. I know someone who almost died from it. That was years ago, but to be safe, I'd change your habits.

I don't think it's such a big deal. I do the same thing. Just make sure you know what the symptoms of TSS are and recognize them when they happen to you.
