They're kind of like kittens only they never grow up. I have one ferret who is into everything and begs for anything that I eat while he's out of his cage. Ferrets are a lot of work - as much as a dog or a cat so if you want something to look at in a cage, you'll be better off with a hamster.

If your referring to looks : They look like weasles; perhaps because they are related to them. They are long & furry & they have long tails too; they are extremly cute if you ask me.

Personality wise; they are all different just like any other pet. I would describe most as the following : Curious, mischevious, playful, loving, engergenic, & extremly smart.

Owning one, well that is a lot of work due to the money you will spend on everything the ferret needs such as the a spacious & safe cage, food, toys, vet bills, vitamens, etc. You will also spend a lot of time cleaning up after your ferret, they poop a lot; it's crazy. You will also spend a lot of time looking for things; mine loves to steel my lip gloss... I moved my tv cabinent & found about 10 things of lipgloss, socks, wrappers, markers, a shoe, & a lot more stuff.

Basically; they are great to own as long as your willing to put in the right about of time & effort just like you would any other pet & please do your research before purchasing.

I'd imagine a ferret is like a cat or a dog or any other pet in that each one is different and has its own personality.

GREAT!! i am owned by 3 and i love them VERY MUCH. if you can imagine a dog, cat and toddler rolled into one. but they require alot of attention and money; cage, special food, vet bills, toys and many other things. check out marshallpet.com; ferret.org; essentialferretfacts.com; and ferretcentral.org just to name a few
