I'm not on my period, and I'm not pregnant. I don't know what is going on. Does it have anything to do with birth control pills? I only strated birth control about 2 months ago for a medical condition.

Hormones which includes birth control pills most definitely may cause discomfort in the breasts just as occurs during a menstrual cycle or pregnancy as they all share the common trait of a change in hormone level. In most cases if you continue the pills the symptom goes away but not always. Fortunately there are dozens of hormone combinations and dosages to choose from so your doctor should be able to find something which works for your medical condition without causing side effects.

Yes it's possible. The birth control works like the natural hormones - if the balance is a little off you could get symptoms normally associated with changes in hormone levels. Consult with your doctor and if they're sure you're not pregnant (sorry but it is always possible unless you're not sexually active), the chould possible change the birth control that you are taking for a different formulation.

It could very well be the hormonal changes in your body that are happening with the birth control. It might also be that your body is changing and your breasts are growing or reacting to the hormonal changes. Or it could be that you are going to start your period soon. you don't have to be on your period to feel symptoms of p.m.s.
