Are there people here who actually consider themselves part of the BASE of neocons? And no, all of you people who frown on their spendthrift ways and lack of true conservative values are NOT part of the base. I mean someone who 100% supports all that is neoconservatism as defined by Bush?

I know what you're talking about. Bush has groomed a branch of the Republican tree that I'm growing frustrated with. Real conservatives don't do these things.

Newt was the real deal. He believed in lower spending and better America. Don't talk smack about Newt.

I hate to break it to you, but Bush is nowhere near a "neocon". I think the kind of person you're trying to push that label on might be nearer an Ann Coulter or Pat Robertson type.

In case you just got here NEOCON is used on this site in the prejorative.

True neocon? Newt Gingrich. I guess us old-timers would know how the word came about.

Bush is no neocon.

I do not think it is possible to actually embody all of those values and actually live in society at the same time. It is all a part of Rove's rhetoric.
