Do your research nd be absolutely sure that you want to run a pub.It can be a Catch 22 situation, in so far as if you do not run the pub correctly and fail to get in customers then you will be unable to pay the rent but then on the otherhand if you work your butt off and really make a go of things the brewery will penalise you and because you are making such good profits they will put your rent sky high.So many people come unstuck when they take over pubs. Good luck in whatever you decide.

Contact a brewery such as Greene King. they have management programmes and training. You and your fiancee could apply to be assistant managers. Couples are often more welcome than single people as well because you get two managers at once and are seen as more reliable. It's a good idea to have a go at managing before making a commitment like a tenency or ownership.
Smaller companies such as Brakspear or Wadworths might also be worth applying to. It depends on where you live or whether you are willing to relocate.

You mean running/managing a pub, not owning one. Correct?
Go to different pubs and apply.

You can get software for a business plan-very good idea, even if you are not borrowing. I know most cities only issue so many liquor licenses and area matters too- check with your local small business association- many retirees help for free too, which is great-take whatever you can get-they should have a site.....

Good excuse to go to the pub, go and ask your local landlord to put you in the right direction.
