BAGHDAD, Iraq - The United Nations said Wednesday that 3,709 Iraqi civilians were killed in October, the highest monthly toll since the March 2003 U.S. invasion and another sign of the severity of Iraq's sectarian bloodbath.

Also on Wednesday, Gunmen shot dead a bodyguard of the parliament speaker and wounded another, a day after a small bomb exploded in one of the speaker's cars, his press office said.

Iraq is headed toward a violent, ongoing civil war that was only expanded when the U.S. interfered and bullied its way into the conflict. The U.S. had no justifiable reason for invading another sovereign nation that in no way threatened, provoked or attacked the U.S. We should have not been there, but we are because Dick Cheney wants all that OIL swimming underneath Iraq's sands. If that's not the case, why is the U.S. building the largest embassy in the world on a 104-acre site in downtown Baghdad, overlooking the 'new' Iraqi puppet government installed by the Bush administration? Because we intend to be there until every drop of OIL is sucked out of Iraq's sand. -RKO-

Iraq probably would have collapsed this way eventually, but it's happening now because the US invaded (and therefore will carry the blame for it.)

There are so many conflicting reports, it's really hard to know who is doing what. Kinda wonder if anybody knows, when reported it is believed there is a "Death squad", and Believe is the operative word???
