so >3 means greater than 3
Think of it like a mouth - the mouth will want to eat whatever is more. Like if you had the number 5 and 10 and you wanted to show which is greater, you point the open mouth in the direction of the larger number...
5 < 10 (five is less than ten, or 10 is greater than 5)

unless its <3, then its less than 3, or they are using it to make a heart.
