http://free.grisoft.com/doc/1 has a free virus scanner and cleaner. It works exceptionally well. The only downside to this is that you may need to download and install a new version of the software every year. The virus database is updated automatically.

Can you narrow it down a bit as to what kind of security software you are looking for?

Depends on who you have. With what a friend of mine has, she claims her security is better than mine. I found out she was right and I am switching to MacAfee.
