After all, most superstitions would be gone, in place of science and evidence.

Does this matter only if you think beliefs go with actions?

Yoda: you can't honestly believe that?
care to give some examples? Especially relating to the fact radical Muslims hold people down and saw their heads off and the reason given was "he was a Jew" or infidel,

How is that economic, or is it too complicated for them to get into politics, so they just justify their hatred with their religion? I guess you know better than they do.

Be honest to yourself here after you get past the religion has killed more than anything else line (btw we have always had religion and they didn't start the wars PEOPLE did). The catholic church and now its counterpart christian and other religious charity organizations do more for the needy on a daily basis that many countries do in a year. I know its easy to blame the "religion" but please don't forget those that give daily, weekly, monthly, annually and for those that give up their services to help the needy? Habitat for humanity (its a Christian organization - people forget quickly that Jimmy Carter is a devout christian).

So, in your perfect world of aethistic common sense what is your common sense to immediately take care of those people who now will not be? Science cannot replace compassion and humanity. One may argue that those are "Human" not "religious" traits I say they come from the man above.

The largest genocides have all been carried out for secular reasons. In fact the three largest genocides (Soviet Union, Cambodia and China) were committed under regimes that espoused atheism.

People should be spiritual instead of religious! religions are set up by men who fail (just look at Haggarty and how that has affected so many people).. but if you are spiritual you have yourself and your beliefs and no "idol" to fail you!... religion is a support group, be strong people and figure out what God means to you instead of what it means to someone else!

But I have to agree that many people would still find a reason to fight.... :(

I don't think it would help.....you see, the world's problems aren't caused by religion, but by greedy tyrannical people who just use their religion as their justification. If religion didn't exist, they would find some other way to justify their actions.

God gave us science, and He gave us brains to think with.

Atheism begins with the flawed premise that people can separated from their belief systems.

It cannot be done without genocide.

When atheism begins genocide, how has it improved anything?

No. People would still find a reason, and the reason is usually economic and not religious.
