You should make dumplings cuz they are so good and easy to make. Also too its not typical that someone else would make them for your dinner. You can get the recipie off the back of the Bisquick box or you could go to Target because they have a box there of instant dumpling mix that comes with 2 cans of chiken and vegies in it. Im tellin ya, its the bomb diggity :)

Sweet Potato Souffle - it's easy and very yummy.

You need 3-4 sweet potatoes
3-4 tbsp Butter
1/2 pint heavy whipping cream
Brown sugar (4-5 tbsp)
2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 cup pecans (optional)
3 tbsp flour

Bake the potatoes at 400 degrees until done - about an hour or so. Let them cool, then take the 'meat' out of the skins and mash it up in a bowl. Add the heavy whipping cream slowly as you whip the potatoes with a mixer. Whip until the consistency is smooth. Put mixture into a buttered cassrole dish - dish should fit all potatoes but it should be full almost to the top.

In a separate bowl, cut up the butter into smaller chunks - sprinkle in the brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, flour and pecans. Use a pastry knife to 'cut' this into a crumbly dough. Sprinkle on top of the sweet potatoes and pop them in a 400-degree oven for about 30 minutes or until the top is just brown.

I've had to make this every year since the first time I made it - everyone always asks for it. It's fantastic!

A big favorite in the south is either hot cheese dip or banana pudding. The dip is way easy: Mexican hot velveeta, can of rotel tomatoes...melt in microwave. Stir to mix up well. Done. Want to add punch, add some browned spicy sausage.

The pudding is vanilla puddding, vanilla wafers, and bananas. and mix 1 tub cool whip into the vanilla pudding before it sets. Line the bowl/pan with wafers, add banana slices, fill with pudding. Add banana slices on top (as you choose and/or like) and top with more cool whip.

Guys love both of these. If you do the dip, take corn-type chips too - my husband likes Tostitos, but any kind you like will do.
