If you're young and still growing, you need lots of protein (meat and eggs). A little fat won't hurt you - if you're active, you'll just burn it off. Eat carbohydrates (bread and pasta) for energy. Drink plenty of water and avoid too much sugar, especially high-fructose syrups that you find in soda - that's the worst!

Basically, you need foods which are high in energy that your body can use straight away, like carbs. Stay away from saturated fats and salts, as these will dehydrate your body and affect your endurance.

Sports drinks and snacks wont benefit your performance, so dont just eat them just because they have a brand name on them. Steer clear of soda before a training session and dont drink orange during exercise, only water, as the orange juice upsets the acid in your stomach and will make you feel sick.

Just eat a sensible mix of all types of food and good luck!!!!!
