Unfortunately I could not visit my family back home for Thanksgiving so I am stuck here in up-state New York. I do not want to cook up a turkey dinner just for myself and a "significant other" so what places are really good to eat at? Not too expensive and nothing like Denny's or IHop please.

When I meant not expensive I meant not over $50 per person. FYI: I do not eat McDonald's but thanks for the input!

I use to work at Cracker Barrel and they have a great Thanksgiving special. Last year they had the turkey dinner with 3 sides and free slive pumpkin pie per person and was only around 4.99 a meal. Cheap but great food. Not sure this deal will be the same but i know the whole Thanksgiving dinner will be since Cracker Barrel is always open on thanksgiving. But the one I worked at closed 6pm so u may want to check times for closin on T-day. Also Im pretty sure there are numerous Cracker Barrel's in NY

I went to Marie Calendars last year. It was kind of expensive (about $25 a person). Most Hotels have a good set up... This year I am just cooking for 2 also. I got a turkey breast in gravy that is frozen for about $3. I got some pre-made mashed potatoes from that butter company. I got some stove top stuffing.

I would pick a nice upscale restaurant, call and ask around where you live. Thanksgiving Dinner Special are usually a fixed price, so you know what you are paying, before you go to the restaurant. Happy Thanksgiving

Cracker Barrel would be a good choice plus they are reasonably priced. Also try Boston Market. They have a great Thanksgiving spread.

If you are within a comfortable driving distance to Saratoga, it's a great place to spend a night out, plenty of fine dinning and things to do late night...Mare Ristorante is great for an experience, nice lounge. If your near Utica I'd hit Nola's in Clinton, fine food quaint little place. Bring your own wine.

We did Cracker Barrel a few years ago & it was great...tasted like "home-cooking". It wasn't too expensive either. Happy Turkey Day!

Try a Mcdonalds. Its cheap and at least you can have a double whopper with fries, but hold the mayo and not too much lettuce.
