i've never been out the day after thanksgiving. why people might ask? A)too early and B) by the time i'd get in there the item i would want would be gone. They only care maybe 3 of a certain "big item". I remember last year Wal-mart had Notebook Computers really cheap and they were gone in an instant.
I shop all year round. It seems like i'm saving. because i'm not spending my whole pay check all at once. just a little here and there.

No!. The day after Thanksgiving is officially known as Buy Nothing Day.. Instead of getting caught up in the consumerist mentality and stressing out on Friday, take the day off.
Don't buy anything for one day. Remember that the US consumes more of the worlds resources than any other country, even China; even though our population is small in the bigger picture. The Pilgrims were thrifty folk. Do you really think if they were alive today they would be standing in line for so called bargains at 7 am? No.

I don't think so. But none of my family likes to shop in crowded situations anyway, so we NEVER go the day after thanksgiving.
I do most of my christmas shopping online, it saves some money (dvds and cds on amazon are 1/2 the price they are in stores here) and as long as we order early enough, we don't have to worry about anything except wrapping them (and some websites even do that).

You can save a lot of money, but you have to be there as soon as the store opens, and you have to be prepared to get pushed around by all the mad bargain shoppers. My mom used to go, but she recently stopped because she said it just wasn't worth the hassle. She complained that there were too many people just being rude. Also, you have to wait in line forever. She decided that she'd rather pay more money or just not buy certain items. I never go because I'd rather sleep in (or I have to work).

Absolutely! I have managed a department store. Stores compete for customers on this #1 shopping day by attempting to draw consumers in with incredible savings. Their hope is that once IN the store you will be enticed by other regular priced or slightly reduced merchandise. The key is to stay focused on the big savings and think of the day as a competitive sport! Shopping is MY FAVORITE Sport. Football is second.

No not exactily unless you need to get a few items then go but if you can await after the sale I would suggest that. However, I went a few times a few years ago one of them was with my parents. I went to Jcpenny's, Marshell fields and carson's and other stores at the mall for the door buster sales. Those door buster sales was a great price and it was between 7am-10 am way before the wackos comes.
This year we are awaiting the day after Christmas sale to go to walmart.

you save ALOT of money, but there is such a crowd, you may not be able to hit alot of places. i've found that get really good deals on websites like amazon.com, overstock.com, b&n.com, etc... good luck if you go for it!
