have an old gas fire radiator system that is not properly maintained (rented house) got air in bathroom and back bedroom rads do i do them 1 at a time or both toghether. also when i bled them in past it take a long time for water to come out. I do it with boiler and rads on

One at a time should do the trick and yes you can do it while the boiler is running.

You should check all of the radiators. When the system is shut down for the summer it will get air in the lines.

I lived in military barracks that had that system... Talk about jack hammering in the middle of the night when the air is trying to move around... it was a 2 stories and i would bleed them weekly and always the lower level first.. never could get the maintenance people to fix the leak where ever it was... air rises in a sealed system.... and agree with the previous answer..... I'd start closest to the burner.. and then work my way around.. cause this way you will work all the air out that way. If not your chasing a ghost in the pipes

To save you a lot of time every year when you put your system into service I would get the automatic bleeders and install them on all your radiators. Then they will get rid of the air for you automatically
