My husband doesn't like me listening to DMX. I love him because he is real and he talks about his life. I like him because he has his ups and down and he shows it, he is not trying to be something his not. What can I do to show my husband that it's not that I like him because of the way he looks, it's because in some of his songs especially Lord give me a sign, I actually feel that it's me.

You probably won't be able to change your husbands' mind, so just continue appreciating DMX on your own. I'm a big DMX fan because he does talk about real life and what he's went through. Notice, he NEVER talks about money, clothes, or bling.

We both have the same problem, my sister hate country music and l am oppose to her because l dearly love country music. So what l did is to buy my own CD player and listen country music all alone, not sharing the tunes with her.
So l think that's what you're going to do, if your husband don't want you to listen to DMX, because he didn't like him or his music, do listen secretly. Have your own portable CD player with headphone and enjoy it without annoying your hubby.

The way he looks? Why is your husband worried about you liking him because of his looks...that niggga is ugly! You cant make anybody like DMX, hes very vulgar...he talks about fukking a corpse on his first album....I don't blame your man for not liking his music.
*dont get me wrong, I LUV DMX...but not everybody is going to like the same kind of music that you and I do.

Just explain to him your justifications of listening to his songs. Sit him down and let him know it's not his body that interest me. It's the songs that he makes and the stuff he goes through. Explain it to him like that and I think he will understand why.
