Low end airlines primarily cuts down on the inflight meal. If you see Air Deccan, meal is not a part of their travel package. But they do serve some refreshments for which the passenger has to pay additionally. Same goes with Spice Jet; but they atleast serve free cookies/brownies and water. Contrast this with Jet Airways, Indian, Kingfisher and Air Sahara; they all serve inflight menu and their fares are higher.
