With Kerney out 4 da season, abraham out, and rod coleman with a toe injury, what do u think dey need to do in order to hav at least a decent pass rush?

Depth is so important, but with the salary cap and budgets it is difficult to maintain sufficient depth. Free agency is not much of an option right now. All the talented players are no longer free agents. Injuries are part of the game so coaches and players have to be able to adjust. Reserves have to step up and play better. Coaches have to adjust their schemes to take advantage of the players talent. For example, if you are thin on d-line and have a number of linebackers, then switch to a 3-4 or have a linebacker play d-line providing more rush. Sometimes you have to ignore the "book" and just play ball. Another way to help the defense is to keep them off the field. The offense needs to play better. More specifically, Vick needs to get his head screwed on straight. As good an athlete as he is, he must establish the run first before anything else he does will work.

They well have to work with the players they have now, but on Draft day in 2007, Atlanta should keep its eyes on Allan Branch, a 6'7" 330Lbs. DT from Michigan. If you saw the Mich-Ohio State game you should notice that OSU kept two to three players just so Branch would be kept out of Troy Smith's face...but even with this he had a sack and forced Troy to throw six passes incomplete against a very good O-Line. If Atlanta gets him they well have one of the best D-Linemen, if they pass him up than they'll have to wait until the fourth round to get another solid D-Linemen.

it isn't really much they can do but put out points early and makebetter passes. it isn't really the defense it's more of the widerecievers that can't catch and they should play norwood more often.the falcons are just to inconsistent right now.they need help on both sides of the ball.plus they need draft some better players.

Play nickle. That would put 3 linemen and 2 linebackers on the line. Then they could have safety blitzes with a linebacker playing free safety and CB blitzes with the free safety playing cb and a linebacker playing free safety.
